I would like to run inkcut headlessly on machines and control them over SSH.

Thinking outloud, something along these lines when called:

    inkcut --cli --driver="Summa T600" --port="/dev/ttyS4" foo.svg

    inkcut --cli --config=summa_t600.ini foo.svg

A way to export all current settings from the GUI would be amazaing, that way you could set it and forget it for large batch runs.

Interesting, it would be possible to make a cli to cut via the command line but settings would be much more involved.

Have you thought about just using vnc?

Also another user requested cutting via a http server which would also be possible, I think there's a thread on the forum somewhere if you search.

Hmm, I was also thinking along these lines- any interest in repackaging as an octoprint plugin? Looks like this was tossed around in this thread too
I was considering taking a shot at it, anyone already had a go?
As of march (err, more like as of last week ...1.4.1) octoprint is hunky dory with python3 though and through for plugins, much much better to pack a plugin now then a year or two ago (octoprint python 2 eol was a nightmare)

I want to use fewer GUIs not more :)

Right now my 'remote print' setup is to just use CUPS:

    • Install the cutter as a printer on the remote device.
    • Share it
    • Add it as a remote printer.

Heh, never considered cups or bonjour style remote printing, sort of forgot about those lol
Still think an octoprint plugin would be a reasonable move

Has any one had any luck with a CLI for cutting?
