Has anyone found a Linux driver for the CUTOK plotter? (www.cutok.com)

Or is there a similar driver for another printer which works on Linux?

    Thanks!

It says it uses RS232, so it should work with Linux without needing any special drivers.

My printer model has no RS232 port. Only USB. My laptop also has no RS232 port.

Would a USB-to-RS232 converter on both the Printer and the Laptop be a work-around?

Yes or typically they have a USB serial converter built in. It should just show up when using the serial port connection type.

Typically either /dev/ttyUSB0 or /dev/ACM0 are the actual device names.

    Thanks for the help frmdstryr!

I got it all working!!! My CUTOK 240 is cutting like a champ!

    • I set Inkcut (running on Ubuntu Studio) to print to "Parallel Port".
    • I set the device driver to "Inkcut Generic Driver".
    • I received an error "inkcut permission denied /dev/usb/lp1"
    • I checked the group permissions via the command "ls -alFh /dev/usb/lp1"
    • I saw the group had only member "root". My username was NOT in the group.
    • I added my name to the print group via "sudo user mod -a -G lp [my=user=name]"
    • I rebooted my machine.
    • EVERYTHING worked after that.

    Thank you SO MUCH!

For what it's worth, after reading your response (above), I came across some of your previously posted advice in this thread (github.com/inkcut/inkcut/issues/168), and that finished getting me fixed up.

On behalf of myself, and my beleaguered wife, - you REALLY made my day. Thanks!
