For years Inkcut has been one of the most popular open source licensed programs to control vinyl cutters. It was originally written as a fun project to add a few more features the HPGL export function of inkscape and run my cutter directly from linux. To my surprise it remained one of the most popular programs to use for the past 7 years and has been mentioned as one of the go-to programs for hacker spaces around the world.
Unfortunately shortly after it was made, I switched jobs and no longer had much time to commit to the project. Fast forward a few years, another change of jobs allows me to allocate some time towards open source projects.
As many users have contacted me recently about getting old equipment to work with Inkcut, I decided to create this forum to hopefully be a place to bring together DIYer's who enjoy retrofitting 2D cutters or just getting some cutter working without using some expensive "pro" software or archaic program from 1995.
