3 mths ago my notebook died, Dell Studio 1535, Dells first NB with optional Linux (Dell's special Ubuntu 07.10 or so)
I picked up my daughter's one, a studio xps.
Unfortunately it does not run Ubuntu properly due to TWO graphic cards, onboard and dedicated.
At least I was forced to switch to Linux MInt 20.02 which is based on Ubuntu 20.04 TTS and runs NVidia's propriate driver without probs.

Installation runs ok but when inkcut is started it launches an ImportError: cannot import name 'sip' from 'PyQt5'
I found out, that's a common prob with 20.04 and played with several versions.
I do not remember exactly but the packet python3-pyqt5 version 5.14.1 seems to help, inkcut is starting now but I didn't checked wether itc working correctly.

For running as inkscape plugin the environment must include the installation dir "~/.local/bin".
